I have MBox, iPod, WD My Passport, Kindle and other USB devices. I like to turn off My Passport when I'm not using it, my MBox won't connect until I've fully started Windows 8.1, and if I have an iPod plugged in and take new photos or videos, they won't be available until I become me reconnect it. This center will do it all for me. The power port is also great for charging an iPod when the computer is off, which I find great. And providing 10 ports working for 3.0 and 2.0 makes it easy to manage my other devices without much plugging and unplugging. Of course I'm not trying to run them all at the same time since they end up going through the same 3.0 port, but so far it seems worth the money. Switches may not be very reliable, only time will tell.
