Gates timing belt kits are recognized as the best OEM parts for repairing a tricky Subaru 2.5 engine. Mine was for a 2000 Subaru Outback Limited 2.5L EJ 25 and the kit came exactly as described, was 1/2 the price of some other manufacturers replacements and the fit was perfect. Only waste your money on the best. It's not a job for someone who doesn't have sufficient auto repair skills. So if you're unsure (because the motor is in the way), just bring it in and have a reputable repair shop do the repairs. Alignments are required. To be precise - it should also be noted that the timing marks on the belt are off by about 1/2 a tooth from the exact one, but that doesn't matter if you know what you're doing.
