I bought 6 sets of top o-rings and even with a special fuel tool I couldn't install the o-ring in the correct groove. It was like the o-ring was too big or the tool just wasn't working properly. I destroyed every o-ring. I got my money back for the $80 tool. If the quick connector is leaking, you will need to replace the entire fitting, including the hose in the tank. I also replaced the fuel hose and fitting. I've spent a lot of time trying to get this to work. Just say no.
