**Scroll down to see TL;DR***I suffered from analysis paralysis for too long before I pulled the trigger on the Edge 25. I looked at many different options from different brands. I use my Garmin Forerunner watch to track other activities and I really like it, which has led me to stay in the Garmin ecosystem. I've been adding either this or the Edge 520 to my cart about a dozen times a day for a month just to get rid of both and think about it more. I finally pulled the trigger on the Edge 25 with speed and cadence sensors and I'm very glad I did. I travel extensively (for someone with an active family and a steady job) and am a data analyst. The dates are important to me. It's very easy to get lost in the data these days. Barometer, power meter, real-time alerts, etc. But I finally settled on the data I care about. heart rate, speed, distance and cadence. I'm in my 40's and just started cycling. I will never compete with 20 year olds and their CMs. Seeing a broken heart live will not help me get in better shape by bike. And it works. So I don't care much about power measurement. The main benefit of the 520. I'd be happy if accurate power metering was a lot more affordable, but I can buy a decent used mountain bike to ride a few trails when highway riding gets boring with the expense of power meters. My heart rate data is fine. In terms of GPS, I don't really drive anywhere that would be useful for me to have a map. I charted a course on Garmin Connect along roads I was completely unfamiliar with, and the turn-by-turn prompts that popped up as I drove made it easy to get to and from my destination. There's not a lot of on-screen data to consume trying to pedal at 95 rpm without getting hit by a car. It really depends on 3 or 4 fields. For me it's speed, cadence and distance. I feed my heart rate from my previous watch, so a quick glance at my wrist gives me that information. I love that I can scroll through the other screens to see route info (much better than I thought it would be), elevation and heart rate. I also like the buttons so I don't have to worry about my sweaty fingers getting dirty on the touchscreen or trying to navigate the menus while wearing gloves. Touchscreen compatible gloves require some effort to get in the right place. What I don't like, I wish they were a little bigger. I really should have gotten an F (front) mount with it. My old, unregistered bike computer was slightly larger on the stem and easier to read than this one. I really like it and I'm glad I didn't get 520 TL; DRPROS Super easy to use, GPS accurate, locks quickly and stays locked even on forest trails. Gathers all the data I really need. Speed, distance, cadence, heart rate (with optional sensors) It's very easy to connect to the sensors and stay connected. Fast GPS lock. Rough queues are actually very useful and accurate if you have a preliminary rough estimation plan and stick to it. The queues appear even when I'm in the data field. The battery life is pretty good. In my opinion it could be better, although I can customize what data is shown on the screen. Comparison of driving times with personal records. Fast and seamless Bluetooth syncing with Garmin Connect on my smartphone. Garmin Connect works well with multiple devices synced to the same account is a bit small Wish I could show HR in one of the data fields and not my own. It's a bit more expensive compared to the competition. But since I want to use my Garmin Forerunner for HR, I had to stay in the Garmin ecosystem.
