Our neighbor is blind and had a hard time keeping food on his plate and scooping the food onto a fork or spoon. So we bought these plates for him. The sides of these plates are perfect for a child or blind person to push the food until it touches the sides and then it makes it easier to scoop up food. Unfortunately he only used them 2 times before he had to go to a nursing home, so I don't have much experience with these plates. All I do know is that they washed up nicely and these dishes were a pleasing pastel color and I would buy them again.
