Review on Saucony Mens Echelon Running Citron Men's Shoes: Optimize Your Athletic Performance! by Gary Cole

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Also, the 5's midsole was much better quality to provide support and stability to my foot.

I wear orthotics. I first wore an Echelon a few years ago and ordered the Echelon 6 to replace the Echelon 5 which was dying for me. The 6 is in no way comparable to the quality of the 5. I need to remove the insoles to accommodate my orthopedic insoles. There was so much volume in the shoe that I could never get a tight fit. Additionally, the midsole 5 was of much better quality to add support and stability to my orthotics. 6 is made in Vietnam. 5 made in China. When I opened the box and looked at the shoes, I immediately noticed that the quality of the material the shoes are made of has declined. I have relied on the Echelon for a good neutral fit shoe to accommodate my orthotics and ensure a snug fit. I can't believe they completely changed this shoe and just ruined the reputation of this shoe in my eyes. I was lucky that Revain had a stock of Echelon 5s so I ordered 3 pairs. Until they wear out, I hope Saucony has corrected their mistake.

Pros
  • Very comfortable and inexpensive.
Cons
  • Poor workmanship, which causes the shoes to wear out quickly.
