I bought this for AM only to test old AM car radios in my office. After lots of experimentation I found that using 2ft alligator wire for AM reception works much better than this antenna unless I stand and hold one end of the antenna (particularly one, the other end doesn't help) . I tried to fix it everywhere - in the windows under the ceiling, dropped it on the floor. I've tried wrapping it in tinfoil (helps a bit), tinfoil strips, tinfoil fans, whatever. For the life of me I can't figure out why this antenna isn't working very well.
