I bought this bag to use when going into town and I have no regrets. It was very nicely packed in a plastic bag (actually too well packed as it was a bit difficult to open). There was an initial "PVC" smell but it dissipated very quickly and I think it's more due to the heat than the packaging itself a 12 inch umbrella is comfortable in it. The inside pocket doesn't have a zip, but that's ok because I use it for my keys. The shoulder strap is wide, I did not feel any discomfort with it. The bag may be slightly saggy at the top if not filled properly. Overall this bag is great for everyday use and I will definitely be buying another one in a different color to take to work.
