I am very impressed with these shorts. The 5 inch length is perfect - not so short that they ride up and not so long that they look messy. The waistband is high and elastic and the side pocket is a great size for a phone. The most amazing thing is the material - soft and elastic. , they are compressive but don't feel compressive. I use them for running and lifting weights and sometimes for a haircut in the garden. I would also like to wear them in public. I'm 5'5", 170 lbs, athletic build. I ordered L and they fit perfectly.
