Useful Set - Nuts

Consists of 4 lengths - 10mm, 15mm, 20mm and 25mm; all with M6 internal thread. This confused me because one of the product photos showed a 1/4-20 thread. I bought them anyway because I often use both cap sizes; However, I can confirm that the product delivered has the size M6. There is no clear indication of what size hole you need to drill for them. It says the outside diameter is 10.5mm, so I'm assuming a 10mm drill bit will do (3/8" would be the closest fractional equivalent). I don't really like the L-shaped hex wrench, which is best for inserting into the mounting hole - when you drive it in with the long side, it's difficult to get enough torque, and when you try to use the short side, it is easy to pull them out askew. I prefer to use a 6mm hex in a cordless drill so it's easier to make sure the bit fits right in. I usually drive them in about 1/16 inch above the surface and drive them all the way in with a hex wrench. Since many of these inserts are used with chipboard or MDF, this can help prevent tree uprooting if you drive them too aggressively.
