I got tired of replacing Optronics trailer lights that I used every year or two when they died so I'm going to try these. I dismantled the lamp compartment before installing it on my trailer. It's better sealed than Optronics flashlights with an O-ring and better screw holes and screws. Just in case I applied a little Corrosion X HD to any exposed metal in the lamp compartment before assembly. I made two modifications that I would recommend to anyone installing this or any other trailer light: 1. I replaced the leaky ring terminal on the ground wire with waterproof heat shrink tubing with hot melt adhesive inside.2. I replaced the included lock washers (star type) with regular stainless steel split lock washers. (I had another type that stuck so hard I had to punch and snap the plastic to remove the light.) As with any boat trailer light, especially if you're going to submerge it in salt water, use waterproof heat shrink tubing. and glue crimp connectors to connect the light to your trailer wiring. I will update this review if there are any problems (or hopefully none). [Update - August 2013 - Still works. I just bought one for the other side as the Optronics bulb compartment was leaking (again) and the bulbs were corroding. I look forward to one of them.]
