Review on πŸ”₯ Lodge Silicone Hot Handle Holder: Durable and Heat-Resistant for a Safe Kitchen by Daniel Steele

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Buy only if you want to burn yourself or give away to burn your friends.

I'm cooking more and more with cast iron, love these pans but of course the handles get very hot and you need something to tighten to be able to grip the pans. When I say "cook," I mean toss whatever food I find into the pan and turn it a few times, add salt, and voila, dinner is ready. an iron skillet (which I'm very fond of) and it was recommended in the commonly bought column, but it turned out to be a lousy suggestion. Revain should have a first aid kit and general burn medication "recommended" with this product. This silicone handle cover won't melt on its own, it fits most handles, but also doesn't provide enough insulation to prevent burns, especially if you grip the pot's handle tightly and if you have cast iron cookware. You will understand the weight of these things and how anything but a strong grip can work. The more you squeeze the red thing, the more intense the burning heat and resulting pain. I'll look for something else, but for now I use this and a kitchen towel to grab the pan, which defeats the purpose.
