I didn't read carefully so I didn't understand they are not home compostable so I can't use them for their intended purpose. It is misleading that the packaging says COMPOSTABLE in big letters, but the fine print says they are for composting at municipal/industrial composting facilities only, and the packaging specifically says they are not for home composting. Yes it says in the product description but the picture on the front of the box meant I stupidly misread. These bags are also quite flimsy and don't fit in my 7 gallon trash can, although they claim to be 6-8 gallons. When I tried to gently stretch the pouch to fit the jar, it quickly tore. I placed the second bag in a 5 gallon bucket. Fits in a 5 gallon bucket but when I pulled the bag to tie the top closed I found it was split on the side even though the bag only contained dry recycled paper. My mistake is that I accidentally read that they are not suitable for home composting, but the buyer is careful and the bags are fragile.
