Just to be clear, I can't knit and I can barely knit baby blankets. But every time someone I know has a baby, I give them a handmade blanket because those are things they can use for a long time and usually keep. This is for my granddaughter in May. This is double crochet with a jump between each stitch so the blanket isn't too warm for a spring baby and that's how the colors came out when it was finished. I thought it was very pretty and so did the baby's aunts (mother hasn't seen it yet because it's a surprise). Because it's acrylic, it's machine washable, hypoallergenic and the yarn is very soft to the touch. I think I needed 2 full skeins of 3 to make a 24" x 36" blanket that's the size of a crib or car seat and small enough for a toddler to carry around if they so choose.
