Will not work on touring bikes. There was no top mounting plate for the stand so I used the top plate. I tightened the nut until the washer started to break. Regardless, the bottom plate rotated when I folded the stand back to unfold, and kept pushing my foot until it got in the way of the left pedal. I was concerned about this situation before purchasing, but the high ratings put me off. Now the paint on my lower frame is scratched and I don't have a footrest. It looks like some sort of rubber mount would work better than metal on metal, which was my first issue with this thing. This has been confirmed. Metal on metal is bad. slips, peels paint and shreds metal parts on this stand mounting plate.
