I love these straws! They are very useful and the boba doesn't really get stuck inside. When you're done with that, you can either wash them with hot soapy water or just pop them in the dishwasher. I have never used pipe cleaners. At one point I dented one of mine by dropping it, but it still works fine. My only issues with straws are that I want them to be maybe a half inch or an inch longer just to reach the bottom of extra long cups - but they fit most cups - and I usually have that when I use the Put straw in the cup to cut through plastic wrap with pocket knife or when using regular lids in the bean place, sometimes it squeezes a lot and I get some tea. Also, since the suction power is less than using a plastic straw, it can be difficult to suck up things like lychee jelly. It's not that bad for the price or the hassle though - well worth it as it helps keep plastic out of our oceans and landfills a little more. Also, now that I have a stainless steel straw, I get a bean more often just for using it.
