I don't understand why there are so many skeptics about this adapter. It worked straight away with my Catalina MacBook Pro. It automatically installed the drivers for my laptop running Windows 10. It's the same Realtek chipset as my other 2.5Gb/s USB adapters. I ran a full-throttle 30-minute stress test - sure it's getting warm but not overly hot, and I didn't feel any more extreme than other brands, although I didn't measure the actual temperature. But no bandwidth loss after 30 minutes of iperf3 in both directions. However, the price is double (or lower) compared to adapters from other brands! The only downside is that there is no connection indicator to confirm that the connection is good. But given the attractive price, I can live with that. For all other laptops here they get UGreens.
