Some friends are expecting a boy and I want to crochet a plaid; Parents love music like Prince. The purple rain was a push but all the yarn I usually use was such girly colors. I chose this yarn for 2 reasons: 1) the color is true purple, not pastel lilac, lavender or mauve, and 2) I thought the t-shirt would be soft enough. The color is absolutely lilac Purple Rain; The prince would have liked the color. It's not as soft as I'd like it to be as the crochet gauge is a bit stiff. This texture is perfect for a durable winter baby blanket. I love it!
