These are entry level binoculars with magnification and a lens that will appeal to some people who enjoy watching birds at the feeding station. The magnification is 10 times greater than most serious ornithologists would believe, as higher magnification results in a smaller field of view, making it more difficult to even spot the bird with binoculars. This is a serious problem with a distant bird that is moving. This is much less of an issue for birds close enough to perch on a fixed feeding site. Also the added weight of 10x binoculars and 8x or smaller binoculars isn't really a problem if you're observing from home or in the backyard, not hiking. Many novice/amateur birders really like that they can see more detail with 10x binoculars. So I think 10x42 binoculars would be a good choice for the first pair of binoculars you get for bird watching at the feeder. Other disadvantages of 10x binoculars (compared to 8x binoculars or less) are the fact that they shake more with small movements of your gaze. Weapons. They have a tripod mount so you can attach them to a tripod, point them at the feeder, and you're good to go with no wobble. Higher magnification also reduces the amount of light, so they're not ideal for dark conditions, but that's probably not a big factor. I'll upload some photos of the information Bushnell provided. But that's JustMe.
