Really good field binoculars

In the attached video I give a comparison with my current Nikon Venturer II which I received for bird watching in the early 1990's. These are compact reverse porro binoculars that excel in portability and lens clarity. But you will see in the video that I had issues with a smaller exit pupil and presbyopia (focus and prism issues). When I started wearing glasses, I couldn't use Nikon anymore. I've resigned myself to using a monocular (spotting scope) for bird watching and hunting. This Bushnell

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

These are entry level binoculars with magnification and a lens that will appeal to some people who enjoy watching birds at the feeding station. The magnification is 10 times greater than most serious ornithologists would believe, as higher magnification results in a smaller field of view, making it more difficult to even spot the bird with binoculars. This is a serious problem with a distant bird that is moving. This is much less of an issue for birds close enough to perch on a fixed feeding…

I am very happy with everything about these binoculars. I'm not an expert on binoculars, but this is my third attempt to find one I like. I plan to use them for occasional bird watching, sporting events, concerts and an upcoming cruise so I don't need anything extremely durable but I want to protect them when not in use and I want a…

Universal; continuous; ideal for outdoor enthusiasts

The Engage X (BENX1042) is the entry-level model in Bushnell's Engage collection. Classic Engage, DX and X are available. Here is the difference in lens/prism coating technology: X: Fully Multi-Coated. All surfaces of the air-to-glass lenses (inside and outside) have multiple anti-reflective coatings; Bushnell's exclusive hydrophobic/oleophobic DX lens outer coating: same as X, plus a dielectric coating applied to the prisms for brilliant color rendition and 92% light transmission. The coating…
