Review on LG 43UN700-B: 4K Display with Type C Inputs, Tilt Adjustment, HDR, Built-In Speakers by John Boyle

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Lots of real estate. No color/image control.

I bought 2 of these for software development, operations management, monitoring, etc. The amount of real estate is remarkable. I don't like the quality/saturation/color palette. I have a degree in design, I'm picky about the quality of the image. It was a bit of a disappointment. In the state of delivery, the calibration was miserable (high blue, very bad black). After a bit of fiddling around I figured it out. That being said, I definitely didn't like the level of control. I find it very difficult to get consistent tones with two displays side by side and the adjustments aren't easy or accurate. Some settings (like HDR) affect others unexpectedly, so you never know what you're in control of. It should get a lot better. After all, it does the job. This works great for software development. I would never play them and they would be terrible for an environment where color accuracy and quality are important.
