Maybe I'm stupid but I haven't been able to use this product successfully

I think the idea is that the solder flows up the braid but I haven't seen that before. Maybe I'm not using an iron hot enough? Isn't 375°C enough? Beats me. Obviously other people have come up with a technique to do this job, but it eludes me.
