What did I expect for $12? Nothing like the quality I've gotten from headphones that have arrived on my doorstep. I was relatively satisfied with the build quality of the headphones. The headband is nicely padded and the adjustable sliders on the earcup are metal instead of plastic. The ear pads are well made and offer maximum comfort, especially when jamming to good music for a couple of hours. I also like the minimal branding; All you'll find are two Sonitum logos set in brushed stainless steel on the sides of each earcup. Also note that these are in-ear headphones, not in-ear headphones. If you're looking for over-ear headphones, look elsewhere. The headphone cable ends in a gold-plated 3.5 mm right-angle plug. The cord is also braided nylon, which is shocking. I'm used to rubber plastic. As for the sound, there's plenty of bass, but it sounds natural, tight and punchy, and doesn't suppress other frequencies of the audio spectrum. Mids and highs are also very pleasant. My music listening setup is an iPhone 5S+ with a 3.5mm jack (I'm just not ready for the wireless revolution yet). I use Spotify with dance equalizer and streaming quality set to extreme for maximum enjoyment. BUYER BEWARE! BUY AT YOUR RISK: As much as I brag about this product, please note that the reason I gave these headphones 3 stars when they deserve 5 is because Google says there is no Sonitum headphone manufacturer. This is a ghost company. As a consumer, I would like to know from whom I get my products and what they are about. Even among the product images on the web I found a box with a website that said "Visit us at Sonitum.net". Good luck with it.
