Review on ⛵ Uniden Atlantis 155: Waterproof VHF Marine Radio with Dual-Color Screen, NOAA Weather Alert, and Long Battery Life by Marco Hubbard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The additional battery is no longer available for this radio, do not buy it!

First off I would like to say that this radio worked pretty well when it worked. The sound was clear and the range was good. The screen was bright and the battery life was good. However, there are some design flaws. First, it's a battery clip. Our clip broke within a month of owning the radio (attached with a zip tie around the entire radio). We weren't the only ones with our problem as we had seen at least one other cruiser with the exact same problem (it became a table joke that night). Second, it's the "snorkel" feature. By submersible they mean you can drop it in a 2 inch deep puddle and if you pull it right back out you should be fine. However, nothing deeper than that will survive. Ours died off the dock after a quick dive. Our friends died after just sitting in the boat in the rain (yes, in the water at the bottom of the boat, about 2 inches deep). Third, this is a terrible belt clip. No locking mechanism
