This product works great when I have a USB 3.0 device connected. However, as soon as I add more, it starts to slow down badly. I used a wireless mouse, external drive and printer. The mouse lagged heavily and loading and saving files to the external drive took a long time, especially when I was making a backup. However, if only one USB device is connected, everything works as usual. It doesn't slow down when using the ethernet port, which still runs at 100Mbps, so that has an advantage. I recommend using this device primarily for Ethernet networking on a newer MacBook model. But it also overheats very quickly.
