I installed this temperature and humidity sensor in my garage to monitor the temperature. The device works very well and is easy to set up in the Apple Homekit. You can't control with the sensor, which I think is more of a Homekit limitation than the sensor. I also installed a Cielo remote thermostat in my garage to control my Carrier Mini split. It doesn't support Apple Homekit but has its own iOS app. So I have two sources for temperature and humidity. Both agree in their accuracy properties. For an inexpensive distance sensor, the Qingping Bluetooth Digital Thermometer Hygrometer Sensor is the ticket. One note, as others have pointed out, they supply two 2430 batteries, both were at 5%. When buying, plan on buying a new one. I don't mind.
