Review on Dell P2418HT 23 8 Touch Monitor 60Hz, Touchscreen, ‎FBA_P2418HT, IPS by Robert Perry

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great touchscreen monitor, just not as bright as I would like

I had it for about a week and I liked it. Connected quickly, easily and without any problems. Connected with DP and USB cables. Colors are accurate out of the box, but screen brightness is a bit dim. I work in Photoshop for graphics and it fits, but I just need to adjust for the lack of brightness by compensating for it in my workflow. The pop-up screen works pretty well, although sometimes moving it shifts the weighted base/entire unit on my desk (but not for long). It's VERY difficult to find a good touchscreen monitor. I'd say there are fewer than a dozen models, but some of them are outdated (released back in 2013 or so) so choices are limited. This is simply because they didn't catch on as a standalone product when all-in-one computers with an integrated touchscreen monitor came out. Overall, I award a well-deserved 4 stars. The monitor came with DP, USB, VGA, and power cables, and the design includes a cable management design to keep your cables tidy on the back. The only thing that annoyed me was figuring out how to navigate the Calibration and Settings OSD first. Instead, there were buttons at the bottom of the screen frame whose use for navigation was not entirely clear. It turns out that two of them are used to move left and right in the menu system and one is used to move up and down, and one of them helps you exit the menu. Once I figure it out, it's a breeze to use. One of the positives is that the power button is backlit and is in the same area as the navigation buttons on the bottom right. The power button's bottom position ensures you don't touch it while using the touchscreen. Smart.
