Review on πŸ”‘ Keyed T-Handle with 5/16 inch x 4-5/8 inch Square Shaft, Diecast Construction, Chrome Finish by James Kelley

It was a fun hour! Fix my garage door.

An exceptionally good buy. I bought 3 of these garage door locks from 3 different locations, all of them had to be replaced for different reasons. They were very easy to install. I found the square stem to be a lot longer than any other, but that wasn't a problem. Could you shorten them slightly if you wanted? On one pair I either had to enlarge the holes a bit or realign the holes, easy! All had the small bolts about 1/4 inch shorter, and even the ones I removed from the old locks were too short. So bring the old bolt to Ace, buy the right bolts and ask them well and they'll probably make you more keys. See, they have these new key making machines and when they say the key doesn't exist* that's bullshit. The technician has to cut it the old way. Now you've made it. Well, if you really want to cover your ass. Take the small spring clip that comes with each lock to The Ace and buy 2-3 extras. You may never need them. They look a little different, they're round, but if for some reason you need to make some adjustments because something about that door is "NOW YOU A PRO", break that old spring metal clip and see for yourself, you've got it There are 3 other wires to the door and they cost 0.30 cents each. Heck, for that price you could get your neighbors together and work on a garage door.
