Inquired about basement dehumidifiers and purchased an Alorair Sentinel HD 55. It arrived and was installed. In less than a year, even with a perfectly clean filter, it just freezes and doesn't go into a defrost cycle. I emailed Alorair and they said I had to ship it to LA for repair and pay for shipping myself. What good is a 5-year warranty if I have to pay more than $250 in shipping? I will buy another dehumidifier and hope for better results. This is a warning, look elsewhere if you don't want to waste $900. They sent a new dryer instead. It's installed and working fine. Thank you for your help in resolving this issue. It just freezes, doesn't defrost the coils. Has a clean filter but continues to freeze instead of defrost. I give up and will now buy another device.
