Update June 2020: Over two years later I am now using this handlebar on four bikes and I am still very happy with this carrycot. without failures with five cradles. still holds up very well. I ride off-road and it holds the phone even if I drop the bike. I use the Arkon adapter mentioned in the original review below with the frame mount on all bikes. The combination of Arcon adapter and ball joint offers maximum flexibility when tilting the phone and reduces vibration. I also have an extra mount that I travel with to use when I travel and drive. In my setup - Samsung S9+ and Pixel XL, with Arkon adapter and frame mount, this is the top recommendation. Original review February 2018: Great mount for motorcycle use. First I tried Ram Mount Cradle Holder for Universal Cell Phone/iPhone X-Grip with 1" Ball - Non Retail Packaging - Black and then Rokform [Mount Only] Pro Series CNC Aluminum Motorcycle Mount, Twist Lock and Magnetic Mount. both held the phone well even over rough terrain. The X-Grip takes up a lot of space and needs to be inserted carefully so that the side buttons don't touch the grips, and my phone once fell off the X-Grip during an off-road accident. No harm to the phone. The Rokform mount requires a mount attached to the phone, which I ended up not appreciating as it hampered my ability to use the magnetic mount in the car, and Rokform makes the phone look thicker and less sleek. In addition, the rock form attachment broke, apparently due to fatigue, and finally the rock form is more expensive. techgripper is more elegant. Holds your phone securely and offers multiple mounting options with a frame mount adapter. quite compact. Use this adapter, ARKON Ball Adapter 25mm to Ball Adapter 17mm - Black - SP25MM17 for use with socket mounts. I think my search could end here. so no complaints so far
