Review on 🔧 Genuine Ford XT-5-QM MERCON-V 1 Quart Fluid: Ideal for Automatic Transmission & Power Steering by Jose Ballard

Mercon-V Gear Oil as advertised BUT. with a difference. The labeling of the 5 liter jugs has changed. The markings on the 5 quarts are identical to the last individual QUARTER BOTTLES. This is Ford's recommended replacement fluid for ALL Ford vehicles with automatic transmissions that previously required MERCON fluid. My Lincoln Navigator originally required MERCON fluid. Ford later changed their recommendation from MERCON to MERCON V. I have used MERCON V for the last 120,000 miles with no problems. I flush my transmission fluid through 6 multiple drains and refill every 30,000 to 40,000 miles. After each drain/fill my SUV drives about 75-100 miles before the next drain/fill. I drain/refill 5 times; last drain. filled with a 5 liter jug. NOTE. With my gearbox (4R100) you need 5 liters to refill without changing the filter. The refueling with filter change is 6 liters. Luckily I installed an oil drain plug since my SUV didn't come with one installed. Hope that helps.
