Revain Warehouse Deals (expect some missing parts in exchange for a big discount)

I installed this on a GMC 3500 diesel crew cab yesterday. I paid $50 less than Revain.com when I purchased a "used" item from Revain Warehouse Deals. The kit was missing two screws, four washers and three star washers. Everything else was included and not previously installed. The filter was still sealed in the plastic bag and box. It even had a CARB sticker and some K&N stickers which I won't be using. Installation took 60 minutes and I'm NOT a mechanic. I'm also in my 40's so most of the install requires reading glasses (ERR!). I bought this kit because I installed a K&N cartridge filter in the factory housing, but it didn't seal tight. As a result, I kept getting a MAF sensor trouble code. My mechanic suggested a full K&N system instead of the built in K&N filter. Apparently the error code has disappeared. I have an edge computer so I can easily diagnose and reset engine trouble codes. It was only installed for a day and only time will tell if the problem returns. What I can say is that this system is reliable. The plastic tube fits snugly onto the motor and the filter fits snugly onto the tube. There is no "login" system here. The "box" that the filter comes in is just a heat shield and is certainly not airtight when installed. There is a screw on top of the heat shield that cannot be installed as it is blocked by the radiator overflow tank. The top still fits fairly snugly against the other two screws, but I was a little concerned that one screw had to be left uninstalled. The manufacturer states that it takes 90 minutes to complete this job. This product also guarantees 20 extra horses. I don't know if I can ever say that. My truck is incredibly strong. I will recommend this product until it sucks. Oh, and it's a lifetime filter. You just "load" it up with K&N cleaner and a batch of oil when it gets dirty.
