Review on πŸ”’ FEL-PRO OS 30630 R Oil Pan Gasket Set: Premium Seal for Effective Oil Pan Protection by Rob Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's a silicone, not a rubber seal, and a must have.

This is a silicone gasket, not a rubber gasket, and must be installed so that both surfaces are dry. no oil or glue to hold the seal in place. The original gasket has a pair of metal washers that attach to studs near the transmission side of the oil pan gasket. Save and reuse them if you can. Apply a very small amount of RTV (silicone) fluid to the seams where the covers attach to the block. comes from overtightening the screws. Tighten until you see the gasket protruding about 0.3mm (not very much). Honda's torque specification is only 105 in-lbs (8.7 ft-lbs). This is about the same torque you would normally get with a moderately hard screwdriver handle. The silicone material lasts much longer than the original rubber. This only applies if you change your oil frequently. I change the oil every 3000 km. I am an ASE master technician with 40 years of experience.
