Review on πŸ’Ύ Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory, Red - Enhanced SEO by Joseph Flamm

AMD users beware - the clock runs at 1333/667MHz unless XMP is used

As an AMD user I had to tweak this RAM a bit to run at advertised speeds and latencies . Without XMP enabled, DDR3-1333/667MHz speeds are used by default, so Corsair's display is a bit misleading, or at least missing some pretty important details. CPU-Z and my motherboard register RAM as PC3-10700, not PC3-12800 (see attached image). I've used another brand of DDR3-1600 memory in the past with no issues, so I'm pretty sure it's not a limitation of my motherboard or CPU (both are DDR3-1600 certified and don't need to be overclocked). That being said, it WILL run at DDR3-1600/800MHz speeds of 9-9-9-24 with manual overclocking (1.55v in my case), and it still has 32GB of RAM in the end; However, there may be better alternatives for AMD systems.

Pros
  • Good build
Cons
  • No color required
