Review on Renewed Samsung S20 Ultra Cosmic Black 5G Factory Unlocked SM-G988U1 with US Warranty and 128GB Storage by Aditya ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent product, the best quality.

For me, perhaps the most important criterion is the presence of a modern camera in the phone and the presence of IP68, since I often shoot in pools, under water and in water parks since the days of S7, so IP68 is a mandatory feature for me. I use mobile photography and video shooting, incl. and for work, so the quality of these parameters is a priority for me. As for the feel of the camera system on the S20 Ultra. I really liked the wide-angle camera, the S9 + did not have it at all. It is convenient to shoot landscapes indoors. The 108 megapixel camera pleases with detail in this mode, very detailed pictures are obtained, although they weigh from 11 to 35 MB. I was pleased with the night shooting, it became much better than on the S9 +, although there is a faster lens at 1.5-2.4 with a variable aperture. But, of course, the most amazing thing for me is the zoom. Of course, this is not 100X and may not even be 30X, but up to 10X it simply amazes with its quality. He sees what the eye can no longer see. They say that the thing is useless, but I use it quite often. It happens that you need to zoom in for a better shot, or consider something from afar. In general, zoom up to 10X is very usable. Zoom 100X, of course, is marketing, you need to take pictures from a tripod for more detailed and high-quality shooting, but what's the point of taking a tripod for your phone with you?) The front camera is excellent, the detailing at 40 megapixels is excellent, for portraits it’s just right. Of the minuses of cameras, with them, as with a professional tool, you need to learn how to work. You need to understand which camera in which mode, zoom, shooting conditions will work better. This is quite tedious and you have to learn how to use the right camera, but then the pictures will be as good as possible. It's like taking pictures on a professional SLR camera in automatic mode. Macro photography also takes some getting used to due to the different focal length compared to the S9+. Macro should be done at a small zoom, then the focus will be good. In general, the camera system on the S20 Ultra is fire, but you need to be able to use it. Happy with the phone.

Pros
  • I have an S20 Ultra since March 4th. Took on pre-order. In principle, I am satisfied with the phone, there were bugs with the camera in the first firmware, problems with autofocus, but it was all brought to mind. Recently came the latest firmware. I switched from S9 +, so there is a difference in everything. The display is large and elongated. 120 Hz is a feature that you don't want to turn off. Other phones without high screen refresh rates are now perceived as "sluggish", although this is only a visual sensation. The display is bright and juicy, there is no such refraction of colors on the curve of the screen as in the S9 +, but these are the laws of optics and physics. I have Ultra on Exinos 990. Interface, browser, application speed is instant. There are no blunts at all. The device warmed up noticeably only when loading all the applications for the first time and restoring accounts. Everything else works great. I don’t play games, so I don’t understand this competition with snap. Exinos gives out about 528,000 in Antutu, I think it's normal for my conditions of use. Communication is also excellent, much better than on the previous S9 +. I never caught S9 + in the underground parking, but on S20 people call me calmly there. Moreover, the quality of communication is excellent. In the first firmware, the Internet sometimes stuck, like there is a connection, but the Internet does not load. This was fixed in the latest firmware, now the Internet works even in places where it did not work before. The volume and quality of the external speakers is much better compared to the S9+, although it also has Dolby Atmos. The speakers are set to medium volume, incl. colloquial and this is enough with a margin.
Cons
  • The 5000 mah battery is there and you expect more from it, but 120Hz and a 6.9-inch display do the trick. In this mode, the phone works exactly 24 hours and gives about 6 hours of screen. If you set 60 Hz, then I think it will be 7-7.5 hours. But 60 Hz does not want to turn on at all. Autonomy is average, it could be better, this is a fact. Maybe something will change with the next firmware. I am glad that with a standard 25 W charger, the device charges in exactly 1 hour, very quickly. Of the minuses of the S20 Ultra, one can single out its heavy weight (222 g) and thickness, including the camera block. The phone is huge. This must be understood. But at the same time, it is quite narrow, so it’s not like a shovel at all. You can use one hand, but it's difficult. For girls, I don’t advise Ultra at all, it’s too big for small female hands. The cost of 100k is a little expensive, but given that the S20 Ultra is the newest, top-end and most importantly, a universal smartphone without any special compromises, it is tolerable. If the price tag drops to 80 thousand, then it will generally be a fire for its value.
