I have a cool kitchen scale but it only measures to the gram. If I want to measure small amounts of things like baking powder or yeast, the gram resolution isn't enough. I have bought several of these mini scales for this purpose but they are not durable as they are not designed to protect against dirt and liquid contact which is inevitable when measuring ingredients. It seems to be the only exception. The platform covers the entire surface, preventing spills from entering the internal mechanism; in addition, the buttons are completely covered with a flexible material so that nothing leaks out. Perfect. The only real downside is that this scale requires a 500g calibration weight. The instructions state that the user has the option to select other calibration weights, but this feature didn't work on my scale. Luckily I had 500g and was able to calibrate the device without any problems. After that, my 100 gram weight weighed exactly 100 grams. The device was about 10% cheaper, so a calibration weight is required depending on how accurate you want the scale to be.
