Review on πŸ”Š Enhanced X10 Audio/Video Sender & Receiver with Advanced IR Extender Functionality by Jeff Islam

Good for short distances

Received this X10 kit yesterday. It worked great in the same room and kitchen (there were no walls in between). When I took it up the stairs in the back room I got sound and picture but neither were good. He tried all four channels, but none helped. The room I put the receiver in is on the next floor where the transmitter is. I can't say exactly what the straight line distance between the receiver and transmitter is, but I think it's around 35 to 45 feet. I am really disappointed in the product. I was suspicious of this product as it didn't have clear specs or clearances. A NOTICE. I haven't tested the IR extender function of the remote control as I can't use this device all together. UPDATE December 8, 2014: I took off another star! IR signals to my Denon AVR-X4000 only. It worked great with the remote that came with this A/V receiver. On the other hand, when I tried to use it with the Harmony (650) remote to control the same receiver, it didn't work. Although the Harmony remote controls the AVR-X4000 directly, the IR signal does not pass through this device. I don't know who to blame the Harmony or this unit, but when I bought the Sewell BlastIR (SW-29311) it worked great in every way.

  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
