Works very well. I thought of a rustic black cast iron version but was put off by too many negative reviews. It had many positive reviews and one negative review. I believe this opener can break a bottle, but it would require a rather odd set of circumstances (odd bottle, wrong angle, wrong force). Bathroom sink. I wasn't sure about the material of the wall, so I drilled a hole and hammered in a plastic wall anchor. I used the screws that came with it. As this increases the value of my apartment I will keep it on sale and buy another one for my next home. You can buy several as birthday or Christmas gifts. Highly recommended.
