The jury is still out but a pretty good decision so far

I have a medium sized dog who likes to put his paws on our windowsill and watch out for post break-ins and DoorDash deliveries. He has saved the house from looting countless times, but his paws damage the window sill. So I figured it might be worth a try. So far, so good. In general, the protector does not stand out, which is good. So far he has been doing his job unnoticed. Questions I had before trying it - will it stay in place? So far yes, although we haven't had a full crazy dog test yet. This will happen when he sees a friend who has come to visit and loses his mind in a happy madness. Is it getting too slippery for his paws? The ones I still watch. So far so good again. It doesn't offer as much support as a wooden windowsill, but if its hind legs are securely fastened, we're fine. Does it fit on the windowsill? As you can see in the picture, it doesn't run the full length of the window sill, but covers the area where the action takes place. Can it be removed without damaging the paint? There's not much point in protecting the window sill paint with something that will ruin it anyway. I tried removing the protection a day after installation and it came off without damaging the paint. Will it get scratched and look bad? We'll see, time will tell. But I'm optimistic. is it ugly Not really. Look at the picture and you'll see that it's actually not that noticeable. What you will notice is the velcro that keeps it in place. In fact, I removed the central one to see if the rest would work without it. The middle one was the only thing that really bothered me in terms of aesthetics. The protector comes with 10 adhesive pads. Follow the instructions to place them correctly. Five are taped to the bottom of the protector and the remaining five are Velcro attached to the first five so the sticky side rests on the sill - this will become apparent once you start. The instructions include a less-than-obvious sticker pattern - two on each end of the guard and one in the middle (the one I removed after first use). allows you to remove the protection to clean the threshold. That's nice. Also, make sure the window sill is clean before applying the protective film, although this is a fixable mistake.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
