Review on 💪 Enhanced Performance: Hopkins 46365 Short Proof Power Converter by Mike Skinner

This is a great addition if you are towing a trailer. I prefer this kit over others because it provides a stable 12VDC to each of the trailer wiring outputs. Initially I used a Hopkins 4 pin universal flat wire harness which provided low voltage for the turn signals and brake lights. I planned to build a relay box that would apply battery voltage directly to each of the turn signals, brake lights, and parking lights when needed. But the relay block will be much larger than this block. This kit contains everything you need to get started. I installed this on my 1995 Nissan hardbody pickup. I pull a custom trailer as well as a M101A1 military trailer.! TO EDIT! I hooked up my M101A1 trailer to my truck last night and noticed that the headlights are on all the time even with the truck's headlights off and the engine off! I thought my M101A1 trailer harness connector (7 pin round) had a short connection. I took this 7 pin bullet connector apart and found that there are no shorted pins on it. I checked the 7 pin round connector on my truck and found that there are multiple 12VDC outlets! The taillights and right turn signal were kept at 12VDC proving that this unit was faulty. Now I can't tow a trailer until I replace this converter. I contacted Hopkins and they said this product only has a 90 day guarantee! What waste?!?! October 8, 2015 UpdateHopkins guaranteed the original Hopkins 46365 converter I purchased here in May, even though the 90 day grace period had passed. I sent them the defective unit and within 3 weeks I received a replacement via FedEx! I didn't think Hopkins would replace my unit so I ended up buying another Hopkins 46365 converter because: 1. I couldn't find a satisfactory replacement from another brand2. I was re-reading the Revain reviews and thought maybe I have a lemon so I now have a spare Hopkins 46365 converter.
