So many reviews here decry the fact that this Viva paper towel is not the soft, non-patterned, cloth-like Viva paper towel they're expecting. That's because that paper towel they've grown to love is a completely different product: the Viva Signature Cloth TaskSize Paper Towel (which my wife swears by); a high absorption paper towel so soft and cloth-like as to resemble an old school chalkboard chamois.Instead, the product you're buying here is the Viva Multi-Surface paper towel -- an intentionally rougher-surfaced product featuring a textured, embedded zig-zag pattern, and a comparative near-abrasiveness which can advantageously work like the scrubbing side of a sponge.My wife requires the soft, non-patterned Viva product for the kitchen; I use these rougher, patterned paper towels in the garage.
