In general it is a very high quality product. The details are well done, the board has a nice finish, the magnets on each piece are strong enough that if you turn the board upside down the pieces will stick to the board. Each piece is just the right weight for a relatively solid feel when moving. The felt backing on each piece reduces scratches on the board, which is also nice to the touch. The contrast between white stones and white squares and also the contrast between black stones and black squares is pretty good. Another nice touch is the inclusion of letters and numbers around the edges of the board to help beginners learn to use algebraic notation. My only suggestion to the manufacturer is to consider a small rectangular U-bolt 1/2" high x 7/8" wide x 1/2" long x 3-4" long to hold the board flat, if you don't have a flat desktop surface for game. This is a great product at a reasonable price, the quality was higher than I expected. Let's see how he behaves in a few months.
