As far as I know the active ingredient in it is silicon dioxide, it's hard to imagine an insoluble compound, mainly quartz, would work. But it is so. The atomizer on this bottle is fantastic and produces a fine mist. I have used it as directed and there is indeed a difference in the shine of my color even after a few months. It's also the best product I've ever used on glass, it leaves absolutely no streaks. So I ordered a second bottle of this remedy which cost $62. You cannot use the atomizer without detaching it from the liter bottle. I had to find another sprayer. This shouldn't happen with a $62 product.
