As mentioned earlier, this set of bars is a great place to start for those wanting to try aero bars. They are really available. I personally find them very comfortable to rely on. Installing it on my bike was a bit painful but not terrible, just time consuming due to the shape of my handlebars. I would recommend buying a rubber/silicone strap or similar to put under the floor when installing as this can prevent slipping. Mine stayed in place pretty well but I had to adjust once or twice although I don't tear the bars, they really are for resting so be careful if you don't actually fasten them.
