The air leak occurred as the head popped out, but the tire's rapid rotation closed it. Not even a full turn, half a turn and he stopped breathing. After about 3 months I realized that it might not always be tight. The tire is constantly losing air. He loses 5 psi in a week of downtime. maybe 5 psi a month. it depends. So I check and pump at least every week or before going out. However, this is just maintenance that is required. Now I am absolutely sure that Orange will hold its breath. I've got 70 rides under my belt and I haven't worried about a flat tire. My bike is a gravel bike and I casually hop across the gravel path whenever I see them. I don't think I'll have to carry my bike another 11 miles because it had a goat's head. I am baptized and born again.
