I bought these for a store replacement not a permanent installation. They work great as a temporary light source while I work, but I wouldn't install them permanently. Very bright light that is much better than normal shop light. The strip works great on the bonnet, but can also be placed in hard-to-reach places where traditional lights can't reach. My only criticism is the attachment method. The light strip comes with a simple adhesive strip on the back. I didn't want to permanently attach the strips to my hood, so I bought some magnets and tape and attached the strip to it so I could move it around the engine bay. The magnetic tape wasn't strong enough to hold the light on its own, but the magnets worked great. I'm also not sure what value the switch offers. The light is always on and pressing the switch plunger turns the light off. Presumably to turn off the lights when the hood is closed, but then again I don't plan on installing them all the time so this doesn't cause any problems. The LED light stays cool so leaving it on all the time is not a problem. So a great light at a great price that immediately replaced my other lights in the store.
