We use this sensor at the end of a 600ft driveway. Mostly to warn us of oncoming vehicles. The receiver is inside the house on the inside wall. We already have a previous generation sensor and receiver. Getting them all to talk to each other was very easy by following the instructions in the manual. So now both receivers in different parts of the house will turn off when either sensor is triggered. Controlling multiple sensor functions (on/off, sensitivity, and manual shutter) with a single button takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it works well. We live in a very rural area, so I can't comment on possible electromagnetic interference. Installing the sensor on a wooden fence took less than a minute using the materials provided. One of the sensors is installed on the driveway just outside the gate, the other inside. This way when the gate is closed (in winter many free range cows graze in our valley) we still get an alarm and can open the gate for UPS etc house . I find this works best for detecting approaching vehicles. The sensors work reliably and although they are not mounted in optimal alignment with the solar panel, they do not run out of power even on days when they are often switched off due to work around the gate. The sensor and receiver are OK. very well built. So far, after several months of using the original sensor in a harsh desert climate, it shows no signs of deterioration. The receiver plugs directly into any wall outlet for a clean and easy installation. This device is perfect for our application. Another note: the customer service of this seller is very good. They are very responsive and helpful and I will definitely deal with them in the future.
