It's a bit bigger than I'd like but given the power it can handle I can handle this thing sitting on the kitchen floor. I have already used it with all my 220v appliances and they all work perfectly. I used my Panasonic rice cooker and the rice was cooked in 50 minutes with no problems. I've used it with a kettle and a toaster and they both got the job just as well as before. I also vacuumed the entire apartment with a Dyson canister without any problems. It was quiet during use, with no unusual noise or hum. It's pretty versatile with step up and step down functions, but I seriously doubt I'll ever need it to go from 220v to 110v. Separate input sockets are clearly marked for 110V or 220V. As it is sold in the USA it only comes with a US plug power cord. Anyone wanting to use it for downshifting needs to find a cable with the right connector type. There are two 110 sockets and two 220 sockets, one universal (fits my UK plugs) and one three prong (not sure what it is). The strap on top makes it easy to move it around when you need to move it. At less than $120, this is a pretty good deal as it allows me to use my existing equipment, particularly the Pansonic and Dyson, without having to buy new ones, which will cost me well over $120.
