Maybe it's ok for light wood, but these screws were too brittle for me.

As is common with many product offerings, there were some discrepancies between the product specifications and the online description (wood screw vs. use of aluminum). These screws have proven to be very valuable, but a closer look reveals some flaws that can influence your purchase decision. PROS: - Large selection of screws at a great price. - Corrosion resistance - product heads are never removed and the finish of the contact points for the screw head was excellent. The screws are self-tapping and damn sharp. CONS: Visual porosity or tool marks on the underside of the screw head. The twist in this area from the 1/4 impact driver was enough to break three heads out of a total of six screws. Remember I used the largest screws I could find when installing the Camlock into the transom of a 25 year old boat on a fishing boat. That has never happened to me, with any type of knife. This was my grandfather's boat and I am very frustrated that I have now broken 2 screws on the transom and I can only secure 3 of the 4 mounting points. Luckily, I was able to remove one of the bolts with pliers, which also indicates reasonable friction that shouldn't have cracked the bolt heads. Two screws came loose near the end of the install, and another almost came loose as soon as I started turning the screw. This blank is the memory I want to preserve and don't want to make unnecessary holes in it. There seem to be several reviews here pointing to issues with physical strength and snapping screws. I have to admit that my experience confirms these statements once again. Perhaps I shouldn't have used them on the stern of the boat, but I would also ask that these items be advertised appropriately. For now I will only use these bolts in low strength and non-critical applications where I am more concerned with aesthetics and corrosion resistance.
