We just bought a Leesa foam mattress and I'm struggling with it because of the heat I feel while sleeping. Although the company claims there is a layer of "something" that prevents that feeling of heat, don't believe them. That's a hot bed. Even after a month I still smell the foam. That's how I came across this rug with good reviews and an interesting feature, even if the box doesn't really add to the cooling effect. I'm happy to report that this worked for me. I don't know how it keeps me cool I suspect this is due to the plastic liner touching your mattress. Perhaps this barrier keeps my body heat and foam from reacting. I'm not exactly sure what "cold flow technology" means, but there doesn't appear to be anything in this mattress topper that offers a cooling function. So all the negative reviews are probably expecting some sort of cold styling experience. Aside from buying a cooling pump mattress topper that sells for hundreds of dollars, I'm not sure what these people expect at that price point. But it certainly stopped me from feeling the warmth of the mattress. It also has a good thickness which gives me more comfort because I don't feel like a real mattress underneath. While I won't go so far as to say that this mattress topper has a cooling effect, if you have a foam mattress it can keep you cool. The extra foam smell is gone!
